The HTC One M9 launched here in Australia on Tuesday, with a fair number of people picking one up on launch day. With any new phone you purchase, you then want some accessories for your new phone, HTC announced a few new accessories as well as a new Dot View 2 case, but at this stage they haven’t appeared. So what IS available to protect your new baby?

HTC has actually released one official case for the HTC One M9 in Australia so far, it’s available on their HTC Accessories site. The case is actually more a shell, called the HTC One M9 Clear Case w/ Onyx Black Border and Clear Back

The case is available for $29.95 AUD + delivery through AusPost Registered Shipping for an additional $8.40 (subject to location). It’s a clear back shell to show off the gorgeous brushed metal back of the M9, with a soft touch grip in black around the edge with button insets and holes for ports cut out of the case for easy access.

When we asked HTC about official cases, they did say they were working to get the official lines into carrier stores. We’ve not seen any locally but on a store-by-store basis you may find your local has a few in stock, so let us know in the comments.

Optus lists a number of official cases, as well as Otterbox cases on their Optus Accessory store, ranging in price from $29.95 through to $69.95. Some are in-stock, some aren’t, and don’t expect any preview pics of the cases, because at this stage there aren’t any.

Telstra operates an eBay store for their cases, but so far there’s no cases for the HTC One M9 listed on their site.

Vodafone doesn’t seem to have much in the way of accessories on their site, but does range some in-store.

So that’s the official cases, what else is there? Well, there’s a number of options available from the Ausdroid store which offers a heap of different styles from bumpers to flip cases and more in a range of colours.

What case have you decided on for your new M9?

Hi Daniel, did you guys at Ausdroid end up getting a One M9? Planning on reviewing it soon?

I’m tossing up between the M9 and S6. Not sure which way I should go.

I have one – writing up the review as we speak. TL:DR battery is ok but not great. Fantastic design, easy to hold and just gorgeous to look at. Software is fast and the phone runs like greased Lightning. Camera could be better.

Thanks Daniel. Looking forward to the full review. Had a play with one at Telstra, really nice device from what I saw.

But hearing that Samsung have caught up in design/materials and UI speed has be edging towards the S6. Especially because I don’t want another did camera this year and from all reports, the S6 is supposed to have a stellar camera.
