Huawei launched a new outreach campaign across Sydney in early February aimed at building brand and product recognition. The campaign involved launching pop-up shop style ‘Experiential zones’ in a variety of Westfield Shopping Centres across Sydney where consumers could check out their phones and mobile products – the zones have been pretty successful and now they’re heading to the Royal Easter Show.

If you’re heading to the Royal Easter Show, you can check out a Huawei Experiential Zone, with all the same great products on show at the Westfields around Sydney. The Experiential Zone is set up in the Tech Arena at the show and as well as checking out the latest gear, you can connect to free Wi-Fi and you can also win spot prizes and participate in activities throughout the day.

Plus, if you decide to buy any Huawei product while you’re there, you’ll score a free bag.

The Huawei Experiential zones are actually pretty well done, I checked one out at the Bondi Junction Westfield earlier in the year and the Huawei rep expertly showed off the Ascend Mate 7, a phone I’d been dying to check out since reading Scott’s review. The rep was knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had and I was pretty impressed.

Huawei Experiential Zone in Westfield

We asked Huawei about the Experiential Zones across Sydney and the addition of the pop-up zone at the Royal Easter Show.

As we move into the consumer space with our smart phones and, soon to be released, smart watch we are lifting our brand awareness activities. We recently launched Huawei Experiential Zones in Westfield’s across Sydney and are set to roll-out nationally very soon. The idea is to continue the momentum of Huawei’s brand profiling globally, we view the Royal Easter show as a great opportunity to further engage consumers on a local level.

Huawei is actually the 3rd largest smart phone manufacturer in the world – behind Samsung and Apple. We sold 75 million smart phones last year, but our brand is relatively unknown in Australia. So with the help of the royal Easter Show and the thousands of attendees we hope we can lift our brand here.

The show is a great time to check out things you don’t normally see and if you’re from out of town in to see the spectacle, why not check out the Huawei booth while you’re there. The Ascend Mate 7 is pretty awesome, but if that’s too big, there’s a range of phones and other devices to see as well.

Wonder if we’ll get to see those popups here in Brisbane?
