LG G4
LG is ramping up the teasing for the upcoming launch of their 2015 flagship phone, the LG G4. We saw the announcement of the LG UX 4.0 yesterday, which will be seen fully for the first time on the LG G4. Today LG has released a teaser video for the LG G4 itself.

The teaser doesn’t show a lot in the 41 second long video, but there are a few tidbits. We know for sure that LG are announcing the G4 at their global event on the 28th of April and we also get a glimpse at one of the features that the G4 will carry – the camera. LG lists the camera aperture on the G4 as an F1.8 and show off the body silhouette but that’s about all.
G4 Body with F1.8
We’ve seen some great renders of the G4, we’ve also seen some possible specs for the phone. Last month an entry in GFXBench showed a phone claiming to be the LG G4 with a Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and running Android 5.1. Rumours that the screen will be curved have been derailed somewhat with LG’s recent announcement of their new 5.5″ QHD display that should be front and centre on the phone.

The F1.8 aperture camera on the phone will apparently be in front of a 16MP camera on the rear of the phone, with the laser auto-focus introduced on the LG G3 also set to return as well. On the front of the phone will apparently be a 7MP camera to make those selfies extra high quality.

Ausdroid has today received word that we’ll be attending the launch on the 29th of April in Singapore where we hope to bring you hands-on video as soon as we can. We’re big fans of what LG has been doing on the G series and we can’t wait to see the G4.

The competition to make a better camera is awesome. It’s a worthy place to spend R&D $$$ in my opinion.

Seems interesting but from what I’ve been reading, it’s supposed to be the same cheap-ass plastic build they’ve been using. Now that Samsung have jumped on board the high-quality bandwagon, it’s no longer acceptable for high end phones to be plastic. It never really was, but now there’s no excuse.

Plastic ftw. I like my sd card and removable battery. I (and most people) use a case so who cares?
