ZTE Blade G Lux-Aus Post-Coles Header

ZTE has added another budget conscious 3G mobile phone that is being marketed as a ‘slim & fashionably designed Android handset’ which is available unlocked from Coles and Australia Post for $149.

The ZTE Blade G Lux has been designed to be affordable for budget conscious people who are looking for a stylish design without the huge price tag that normally comes along side such mobile phones, whilst offering Dual-SIM capabilities. I would say based on the spec run sheet, it certainly does offer some pretty decent specs for a budget price.

The full list of specs include:

  • 4.5″ FWVGA Display (854 x 480)
  • 1.3GHz MTK Dual core processor
  • 500MB RAM
  • 4GB Flash with (1.82GB user space), expandable to 32GB via MicroSD
  • 5MP rear camera, 2MP front facing camera
  • Android 4.4.2 (Kit Kat)
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0
  • Network Connectivity:
    • 2G: 900, 1800 MHz
    • 3G: 850 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • Standard SIM (primary – 3G/2G)
  • Micro SIM (secondary – 2G)

With all this in mind, it is a little bit disappointing that the ZTE Blade G Lux Dual-SIM smartphone is running Android 4.4.2 (Kit Kat) out of the box and not running that latest Android OS, being 5.1 (Lollipop) and it can certainly be given that an upgrade to this version won’t occur.

Also the lack of 4G LTE capabilities certainly for the primary SIM is disappointing given that all our major telco’s are moving more and more towards 4G/LTE communications.

The ZTE Blade G Lux Dual-SIM smartphone is available unlocked from your local Australia Post outlet or your local Coles Store for $149.
