galaxy-note-5

Following the previousGalaxy Note 5 leaks from a few days ago, DroidLife has obtained what appears to be a set of hands-on photos of the new Galaxy Note 5 from “sources”.

As expected, the pictures show a device very reminiscent of the Galaxy S6 with a larger form factor and with the Note line’s signature S-pen in tow. The familiar metal and glass construction remains as do all the same ports, buttons and connectors. The metal edge has a rounded finish, presumably making the larger phone easier to hold in one hand.

We can’t see the entire of the right side of the phone, so we can’t confirm or deny previous rumours that the Note 5 will continue the trend of dropping support for MicroSD cards that Samsung began – somewhat unpopularly – with the Galaxy S6. The images also show the Air Command menu – reportedly, now customisable on the Note 5 which many users will be happy to see.

How is the Galaxy Note 5 shaping up for you? Is this your next device, let us know in the comments?

The Droid-Life article says it’ll have a 3,000mah battery…

Uh Samsung, wtf r u doing?

Galaxy Note 3 – 5.7″ 1080p screen, 3,200mah battery

Galaxy Note 4 – 5.7″ 1440p screen, 3,220mah battery

Galaxy Note 5 – 5.7″ 1440p screen, 3,000 mah battery

What? Well, won’t be hard to pass on the Note 5 then.

Samsung makes a ton of phones. Why do they think it was wise to make the Note series and the S series similar? This is a very bad decision. I love my Note 4 and was looking forward to upgrading to the Note 5 but It looks like I have to wait for the Note 6. Hopefully Samsung isn’t out of the smartphone business by then.

I’ve had all four notes so far, plus the note 12.2″ and the Note 8. I wont be buying the Note 5. A lack of Micro SD is a near show killer, a lack of user replaceable battery is a complete show stopper and the lack of the infrared blaster is just insulting. The Note range is an elegant yet powerful and multifunctional workhorse. what Samsung is doing to dumbing it down and trying to make it just a variant of the Galaxy S range. I suspect we’re seeing the end of the line for the Note range, unless they… Read more »

I think we can expect to see others feel as you do.
I think at this stage to much has leaked out to advise holding out to see what is really going to happen, but you never know Samsung might just have something for power uses up their sleeve.

Senectus

the fact that they did this, plus are releasing it quite a bit earlier than usual just has a rushed and cheap feel to it.
If they do, do a Note 6 I’m expecting it to be an engineering masterpiece.

The speculation around some parts is they want to be on the market before the next iPhone to try and stop loosing market share to them.

Well said! Add me the list, only I’m still using (and loving) the Note 2 and was really excited about jumping up to the Note 5 until the rumors of a non replaceable battery and SD card started leaking a couple weeks ago. Sigh Samsung…..just sigh……….

Senectus

at least if you upgrade to a Note 4 it’ll be on the cheap 😉
