We’re approaching Nexus season again, but before a new Nexus (or multiple Nexus) phones are released, there’s bargains to be had on the old model.

The team at Expansys are offering the Nexus 6 at a really hot price, especially when compared with the RRP on the Play Store. If you’ve been looking at, but have been deterred by the price of the Nexus 6 well this could be what you’ve been waiting for. The price for the White or Blue Nexus 6 in 32GB is down to $579.99 with free shipping. If you’re a Nexus fan the Nexus 6 is the latest (for now) in the line of Nexus devices; it’s big, beautiful has Qi Charging and looks great but with average battery life. You can check out our review to see the full breakdown of what we did and didn’t like on the device.

The model on offer is the Australian XT1100 model, which includes all the pre-requisite LTE bands for the Australian market: LTE Bands (1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 19, 20, 28, 41), which includes the Band 3 (1800MHz), Band 5 (850MHz) and Band 28 (700MHz) networks for all three major Australian carriers.

If you’re keen to grab one, be quick and head to Expansys because at this price they’ll go fairly quickly.

Obviously they’re clearing stock to make way for the upcoming Nexus devices, will you wait for the new device or grab a bargain?

Just had a walk back down memory lane. I paid $418 for Nexus 4 and $480 for my Nexus 5 32GB including postage. To my mind $580 for a Nexus 6 is still about $100 too much.

This phone would have been popular if this the initial price, amoled screen is a killer

Will Dutton

As I understand it this is basically the original cost price for the retailer.

I’m so tempted to get this, I held one the other day at Harvey Norman and loved everything except the really low screen brightness.

Can anyone share a thought on the screen brightness?

stephen taylor

Buy it everyone! It’s a unreal phone and at that price its a steal!

Daniel Higgins

Damn, I just purchased the 6 from kogan for 100 more (including shipping) yesterday.

Phil Tann

Check if they’ll to a price match based on current market price.

Moto nexus 6 is the worst phone I have ever used and also overpriced quite a lot. Also highend nexus phone is not worthy as well.

stephen taylor

That’s such a ludicrous statement. Be specific or don’t waste other people’s time.

TT

your statement is ludicrous as well. It’s just your opinion. If your statement is correct, the sales number can prove everything.

To think I paid $888 at JB Hifi :'( . I shouldn’t be complaining, it’s the only phone I haven’t had problems with ever.

Say hello to runout model!!!!!! Hello NEW nexus!

Paul Walker

Too little too late for me. The N6 was always overpriced. Now it’s too close to the new N5. That might be overpriced too (hopefully not) but it’s too close now to not wait and find out.

While I don’t like the size of the Nexus 6, I would have given it a chance and bought it had it been priced around $500… This deal is EXTREMELY tempting… But I think I will wait to see what the LG and Huawei Nexus devices are like…

Level380

clearly on runout pricing, so while tempting, its better to wait for the new nexus!

jdt1986

I won’t be getting either of the new Nexus phones if they are priced over $500 AUD, regardless of size.

stephen taylor

By it! It’s going to be a better screen than the LCD 5 inch Nexus and I would say a better built phone than the questionable Huawei as well as also a larger screen. I would get this cheap and skip to next year’s Nexus offer at which time the finger print sensors, etc, are a bit more solidified. The Nexus 6 I bought for $750 and its got no weaknesses and a lot of market leading stuff.

You’re basing most of your argument on rumors. Do you make buying decisions on rumors?

stephen taylor

No, basing it on reality. We can lock in the fact that LG and Huawei are making a Nexus each, we can lock in they’ll have decent 64bit processors, separated screen sizes, usb-c, fingerprint sensors, etc, we can also lock in how good the current Nexus 6 is and its existing price. Huawei has a huge question mark hanging over it with its blacklisting by western intelligence and the LG will be to small to be a direct competitor for the Motorola Nexus 6.

Daniel Tyson

I think you should probably use a couple of Huawei phones before you knock them. The P8 build quality kills the Nexus 6 – and YES, I OWN and have used the Nexus 6 and the P8 for extended periods. Previous Huawei handsets have been massive improvements on quality as well.

stephen taylor

Your joking I assume, an awful and laggy Android overlay coupled with a tiny hd only screen with probably a backdoor for the Chinese Communist party to cache everyday of your life. It may be thinner but that is not much of a win if you have a crap overall experience.

Daniel Tyson

Stephen I think you better calm down mate, you’re getting quite worked up. You are free to enjoy your Nexus 6 and people are free to call it crap. It’s everyone’s free thought.

Huawei have open source on their kernel as have all the other phones on the market, feel free to show me where the back door is.

stephen taylor

Your making yourself a laughing stock with your belief the Huawei P8 is the best phone. Of course your free to call the Nexus 6 crap and of course people using the Nexus 6 are free to call you a moron. I’m totally calm, hire bout you? As for back doors you need to speak with the ex PLA general running Huawei.

Again, everything you’ve “locked in” is purely based on apparent leaks and rumours, not reality. I get you love your nexus 6 and that’s awesome – they’re great phones, but try to look at the situation objectively and not with the obvious fanboi approach you’re taking.
