Moto X Force
The Motorola product train has chugged on from the recently released Moto X Play and Style, to the what seems to be a shatter proof Moto X Force. The phone has shown up in a drop test video from Motorola in what they’re deeming their ‘#ShortestPressAnnouncementEver’.

The phone was shown off by President of Motorola Mobility, Rick Osterloh in this video, which puts the Moto X Force up against the iPhone 6 (possibly the 6s) and the Galaxy S6 in a drop test. The phones are all dropped from about shoulder height on to what looks like stone pavers and suffer the inevitable fate, a cracked screen, all that is except the Moto X Force.

Motorola has also followed up with an infographic on phone breakage based on results of a survey of 6,000 adults in six countries.

Last we heard from the Moto X Force was back in September when Twitter leaker @upleaks sent out a tweet complete with picture – unfortunately the ever fickle @upleaks has again deleted his account.

Motorola updated their Droid Turbo earlier this week in the US, launching the Droid Turbo 2 with Moto ShatterShield shatterproof display, this Moto X Force could be the international model. The video lists availability for the Moto X Force in Latin America, EMEA and APAC starting in November so we could see this phone launched next month.

The rumours on specs for the Moto X Force also match up with the Droid Turbo 2 specs which launched with a 5.4″ QHD 2560×1440 resolution ‘shatterproof’ display, powered by an 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 with 3GB of RAM and options for 32GB or 64GB of storage. The Moto X Force will apparently also have the same rear 21MP camera sensor as the current Moto X and Droid Turbo 2 models and a 5MP camera on the front. Moto X Force will apparently also be sporting the same specs when it comes to power with a massive 3,760mAh battery included.

We’ve reached out to Motorola Australia for more information on the Moto X Force and whether we’ll see it here down under.

Looks like this could be north of AU$1,000… Daaamn.

What a shame there’s no fingerprint scanner. This would have been the phone of the year and I’d have cancelled my Nexus order.

Fingerprint scanner doesn’t matter so much to me. I reckon this will be my next phone if the price is right.

Been waiting for news of this device for awhile now, so really pleased to see this article, along with the news update I got from Motorola. I hope & pray they don’t have another silly arrangement with Vodafone, like they did with the other new Moto X phones!

Is this phone coming to Australia though?

Trying to get that information now. The fact it says APAC is a good sign, but we’ll wait for more solid details.

Awesome. Hopefully it’s also affordable. Still wishing for moto maker to come here too

would be interested in knowing what materials it comes out in, on the UK site they seem to only have black Nylon so far
I’m going to assume that we wont be getting Moto Maker…

His facial expressions when he drops the phones is farkin funny!!

Xmas is coming up and this would make a really good present.

I must say my Moto X play seems to have a fairly good screen in terms of not cracking already so if this has an improvement then it must be very good. I have unfortunately dropped my phone a few times already and the worst I have had is 1 scratch. The problem with my phone is I feel the screen is too smooth and so seems to slide off surfaces too easily if face down.

Specs are on par or even better than Nexus6P.

Can also do 2TB microSD.

The only concern is
– the probable bloatware,
– non-near stock Android,
– and the non-guaranteed OS updates 15 days within release to Nexii.

How is Moto X series non-near stock Android or has bloatware?

Moto don’t do bloatware; at least, the Moto X Play / X Style were free of it, as was the Moto G.
Their OS is the nearest to stock Android you can get without Nexus.
The OS update issue is the big one; there’s no guarantee there.

Isn’t HTC One A9 the only phone that comes with that guarantee?

moto x is virtually vanilla android

You must be confusing this with the US-only Verizon carrier version of this phone called the Droid Turbo 2 over there. This one, the X Force, is the international unlocked version.

Desperately waiting… 🙂
