CS1.6 Android

SDLash3D have been putting some time into porting the now legendary Counter Strike 1.6 to the Android Platform. In many ways, the game that started it all for Valve Software has built up a legion of players around the world and even to this day enjoys a very active, competitive scene albeit with the latest version of the game Counter Strike:Global Offensive.

As you can see from the video there is still a fair way to go before the game is truly playable, but the base is there; it launches and the HalfLife engine is stable allowing movement around maps and basic interaction with the environment to take place.

I’m not sure if it’s out of curiosity, excitement or just nostalgia but I’m almost certain I’ll drop some coin on this one once its available in the Play Store.

What’s the one game from your younger years you’d like to see appear on Android?

If it’s playable in true Counter Strike fashion that would be cool. I don’t expect low and mid range phones to be able to handle the graphics required. I still have 1.6 on my laptop haha

goober

Can’t wait to hear “Fire in the hole” all over again! Let’s hope they think about the multiplayer connectivity well. Be great to have a bunch of devices over Bluetooth or adhoc WiFi playing like a LAN party.
