Pokémon GO has had a massive year, and for their first birthday Niantic and Th Pokémon Company are celebrating with a special edition Pikachu.
It’s a fairly small celebration for a first birthday, but dedicated trainers are desperate for any new, different Pokémon to add to their Pokédex and a Pikachu wearing Ash Ketchum’s hat from the animated series fits the bill. Pikachu has already appeared in a party hat, and santa hat previously, so this will be a welcome addition.
The limited edition Pikachu will be found in the wild between July 6 at 1:00 P.M. PDT (6am AEST this morning) to July 24 at 1:00 P.M. PDT (6am AEST July 25th).
As well as Pikachu, a new limited-time Anniversary Box is on-sale in the Pokémon store featuring Incubators, Max Revives, Ultra Balls, and Raid Passes. The raid passes will let you take advantage of the re-vamped Gyms that opened up last month.
There will be more information on Pokémon GO events happening throughout the world – none here in Australia – over the next few weeks, but until then time to get out and find that Pikachu.
