The long awaited Android Wear 2.0 update has finally begun arriving on wrists of Asus ZenWatch 2 owners, with users on reddit reporting the update – as well as capturing the OTA update link.

The update to the ZenWatch 2 will rollout in two waves according to Asus who said ‘The ZenWatch 2 update will be released in two waves, the first in July and the second end of July/beginning of August’. This fits with the update rolling out now which is for the smaller 1.45″ ‘Sparrow’ (WI501Q) model of the ZenWatch 2, while the larger 1.63″ ‘Wren’ (WI502Q) model has yet to appear. That shouldn’t matter too much with the WI501Q, the model that Asus sold here in Australia.

To check to see if your watch is ready to update to Android Wear 2.0, go to Settings > About > System Updates to check. The updates should take between 5-7 days to rollout worldwide.

Now, if 5-7 days is too long to wait and you’re ready to side-load the update to your Asus ZenWatch 2, you can download the update directly from the Google servers from this link (thanks to EricLper on reddit).
