Note 8 invite.

The impending release of the Galaxy Note 8 on August 23rd in New York has yet more to reveal with marketing materials for the launch now showing up.

A source has supplied a sales brochure for the phone for the Galaxy Note 8 to Ausdroid, showing some great details about the upcoming handset. The materials show that the Note 8 specs will include a 6.3″ QHD+ resolution Infinity Display, with an S Pen, Iris Scanner and will be IP68 water and dust resistant. The phone will also include wireless charging.

On the camera front, that dual-lens camera setup will include 2x optical zoom. Optical Image Stabilisation and an f/1.7 aperture will be included which will help with low-light photos.

The S Pen, as you’d expect, will enable a host of note-taking features letting you write messages and share them as a gif with friends. You’ll also still be able to use the S Pen to take notes with the screen off.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be compatible with their Smart Switch software to help you transfer your photos, contacts and music from your old phone.

Last but not least, it appears that the phone will be available in Black and Gold colour options only, meaning we won’t be seeing the Deep Sea Blue colour option that leaked last night.

We’ll be eagerly watching the announcement of the Note 8 at 1am AEST on August 24th. You can tune in too with Samsung streaming the event through the Samsung Mobile YouTube channel as well as their Facebook page.

I’ll be interested to see the price in 5 months. seems high at the moment but might be to recoup money from trade in programs they have for people who purchased the Note 7.
the camera seems superb but it baffles me that they can market this for writing and sketching etc when the screen tapers down at the sides. any notebook or diary like that would be laughable. the essential phone and Xiaomi Mi Mix stuff suggests the curve is not necessary for the small bezels so I don’t get it.
