Google Assistant is a remarkable piece of technology, allowing natural voice input to trigger any one of a vast array of systems and functionality on your mobile and other devices. Google have uploaded some new videos that display Assistant working on headphones.

Unlike your phone or Google Home devices the headphones are triggered by a simple button press to enable the Assistant, then any of the normal functionality you would expect is available. Like your phone or Google Home devices, you can manage your voice controls via the Google Home app on your mobile.

We’re already seeing some information from Bose about the QC35 II headphones that are ready for the Google Assistant and we’re sure to see more on the market from other major audio manufacturers in the lead up to Christmas.

It’s a very interesting development from Google and Bose, I’m looking forward to seeing the development over the coming 12 months.

How do you see Assistant on headphones being either advantageous or a hinderance to your daily life?

Really do not need this feature. You can use your headphone anytime without this.

Surely this functionality could be brought through a firmware update. A long-hold of the existing media control buttons.
