The Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL is now available to order from the Google Store and as announced on October 5th you get a Google Home Mini when you purchase either – so what do you need to know?

Well, to start with under the terms of the promo you’re entitled to one Google Home Mini for each Pixel 2 phone you purchase before December 31st this year.

The other thing to note is that the Google Home Mini will be coming to you in Chalk colour only. Whether you purchase from Google, JB HiFi or from Telstra the bonus speaker is only coming in Chalk – no Coral or Charcol is being offered as a freebie, if you want that you’ll have to stump up the $79 but remember the Coral colour is a Google Store exclusive.

Once you’ve purchased your phone, a code will be emailed to you within 4-6 weeks of the phone being delivered – note: that’s Delivered, not from the date you ordered. Once you have that code, head to the Google Store and order a Home Mini entering the code you’ve been sent at checkout:

You’ll need to be signed into your Google account, you WILL need a form of payment associated with your Google Account and if you want faster shipping you’ll have to pay for it.

The last thing to note is that the promo codes are time limited with expiry set for the 28th of February next year, so while they don’t exactly expire quickly, you’ll want to get on that pretty fast.

That’s about all you need to know. You can read the full terms and conditions embedded in the Google Store page for the Pixel 2.
