After leaking the phone themselves just a few days ago, Oppo has officially announced the R11s and R11s Plus in China.

As expected the Oppo R11s features a full screen 18:9 aspect ratio display with FullHD+ 2160×1080 resolution with Oppo also announcing a special ‘Starry Sky screen’ edition of the phone which will come in red colour ‘blurring the boundaries of screen and bringing a wider view.’

Oppo is focusing on the camera yet again with the Oppo R11s, offering a dual-camera setup on the rear combining a 16MP sensor for daylight shots with a 20MP sensor aimed at low light environments that synthesizes a 2.0µm pixel sensitivity that they say will quadruple the photosensitivity of the sensor. Both sensors are behind an f/1.7 aperture to allow more light and enhance depth of field effects such as Bokeh

The front camera is a 20MP sensor with built-in Artificial Intelligence to enhance beauty recognition. Like the F5 announced last week, the Oppo R11s will scan the face, taking in 254 facial feature points in 3D before analysing them based on their database and outputting a more attractive, yet natural look.

The facial scanning will also be used to face unlock the phone, with Oppo claiming their face recognition technology is fast with unlock occurring in mere 0.08 secs.

The Oppo R11s comes in two variants, a standard and Plus model with the main differentiator seemingly in the RAM – the R11s has 4GB RAM and a 3,205mAh battery while the Plus has 6GB RAM and a 4,000mAh battery – the phones are the same size, but Oppo will be restricting models (and colours) to selected markets.
