With news just a few days ago that the Nokia 6 (2018) had passed through China’s TENAA, it appears that the midweight phone from Nokia could be announced far sooner than expected. The latest information, from Chinese retailer Suning, suggests that it could be as soon as Friday, 5 January 2018.

According to Phone Arena, the official Weibo account of Suning shared the following poster, which counts down the days left until the announcement of the new Nokia 6. Expectations were that this might happen later in January, or even closer to MWC 2018, but it seems that we might see it much sooner:

This wouldn’t be the first time that Nokia’s new handsets have appeared in China before being globally announced elsewhere; though Nokia 6 (2018) may appear in China this week, it’s not likely to be shown off too widely until MWC in seven weeks.

The new Nokia 6 is expected to pack a 5.5-inch FHD screen with the standard 16:9 aspect ratio. Some of the main specs of the handset include a 600-series Snapdragon chipset (either 630 or 660), a 16MP main camera, 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage, and a 3,000mAh battery.

  1. Well l hope its far better than their current 6. I have had mine just over 6 months now and whilst it appears to be great value l personally dont rate it very highly. I have problems with it being slow to respond when scrolling, at, least once a day l have to restart it after the screen freezes, and it gets extremely hot when I use it for video calls or often when charging, in fact one time it got so hot when l scooped it upl immediately dropped it, when l picked it up the screen had a crack running across the screen, now l dont know if this was from the heat as happens with some Nokia phones or it was the drop, the problem l have now is Nokia refuse to fix it under warranty saying a cracked screen voids the warranty….. I am very disappointed with it as l wanted it to be so good as l have great memories of the old Nokia phones
