Following on from Android Pay’s renaming to Google Pay, Google has launched their second promotion for the mobile payment platform in Australia, and this one’s pretty awesome.

Between now and 15 May, every new user you sign up to Google Pay who completes one transaction will net you and your friend $10 each of Google Play credit to use on anything on the Google Play Store (except hardware).

Each user can refer a maximum of 10 people for the promotion, netting you a maximum bonus of $100 AUD in Play credit. Additionally, there is a maximum number of referrals of 50,000 across all users, and you better believe those 50,000 rewards will disappear quickly.

To start referring friends open up Google Pay and click to the ‘invite friends’ button in the home feed and share your referral code. I’d show mine but that violates the terms and conditions of the promotion.

Once a friend uses your referral code to set up the app and makes their first purchase you’ll both receive a $10 Google Play reward that can be redeemed just like a Google Play Gift card. After that keep signing up your family and friends to reach your 10 referral limit…

I’m not sure what to be more upset about, the fact that I’ve already set up everyone I know with Android Pay previously, or that I don’t know 10 more people to indict into Google Pay awesomeness.

If you’re with one of Australia’s better financial institutions that support Google Pay, why not share the joy with your friends?
