Google has today announced improved search results when searching for movie showtimes. The only disappointment is that it’s not coming to Australia – at least not yet.
Using the improved search function, you can search for movies playing near you more easily, allowing you to compare films by a number of different factors including checking the ratings, showtimes, theatre location and more. Google will also let you quickly check out your favourite local movie theatre, then apply these filters to movies playing there.
The search terms to activate the comparisons, are “showtimes,” “movies” or you can include a city name in your search such as “Mountain View showtimes.” It doesn’t work for us here in Australia though. As far as availability goes, the new movie search time iss rolling out to the Google Search app on Android for users in the US and India, using Hindi and English language now. Google says this will also becoming soon to iOS, but hasn’t said anything about other countries, but it’s likely it will come here at some stage.
