After the leak on Monday of the screen protectors for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, it appears the floodgates are starting to open on Pixel leaks with details on the screen for the Pixel 3 XL now coming to light.

While the Pixel 3 will have a relatively standard, apparently 18:9 aspect ratio display, the larger Pixel 3 XL will have a notch in the larger panel. The larger Pixel 3 XL will take advantage of notch support which was announced in the Android P Developer Preview, with the panel for the notched display supplied by none other than Pixel 2 XL maker: LG.

The information comes courtesy of known leaker for supply chain, Ice Universe, through his profile on Chinese social networking site Weibo. The post is fairly simple, and though it doesn’t shed light on the smaller Pixel 3 display, it’s pretty definite about the Pixel 3 XL:

There’s little reason for us not to believe that LG will supply the AMOLED panel for the Pixel 3 XL, given that Google has previously been rumoured to have invested in LG’s display division. Google has been quite well acquainted with LG in terms of OEM production with LG making at least three Nexus phones, as well as partnering with them on other projects including the original Pixel and the sequel.

The end of year Pixel event has been held on October 4th for the past two years, so we’re looking at a few more months until we see something official. Until then it appears we could be seeing a lot more leaks in the lead up.

Will you be grabbing a Pixel 3 XL with a notch in the display or opting for a smaller Pixel 3 without?

Oh no! That makes it another meh display like my pixel 2 xl. I just got a pixel 2 xl and am tossing and turning because I don’t think the display is very good at all at this price point. The grainy noise, the blue tint, panel uniformity, black smear. Honestly, my 6p has a slightly better display. Everything else about the phone is top stuff. Help me please! Refund or keep?

Blue tint again?

The display had better be a vast improvement from the Pixel 2 XL…. the black crush / smear is TERRIBLE when you take into account it’s a $1300 phone!

The LCD Panel on my Xperia XZ Premium kills it in terms of quality…as did the OLED on my previous S7 Edge…

But…the camera! Oh the camera !!! The pixels are just SOOOOOO good.

I honestly don’t care for the 18:9 aspect ratio or bezel size but really against the notch, it’s a compromise to a problem that doesn’t exist.

Purchased a pixel 2 XL bu the motherboard is dying and getting refused a repair so was thinking of a pixel 3 XL… Not anymore, sad to see google follow the trends and add gimmicks like dual front facing cameras, what happened to thge pixel 2 camera mentality of work smarter not harder?

LG AMOLED panel, I’m out. If the smaller Pixel 3 is made by HTC and has a 5.7+ display I’m all over it.

What do you mean refuse repair? The pixel 2 xl has a 24 month manufacturing international warranty. Google will send you and RMA replacement if you ring them directly. Have rung Google and they’ve refused a replacement for such a major issue? A mobo dying? That’s a serious defect and Google will replace the whole phone for you. If they don’t I’m going to refund mine immediately

For the first time I don’t want the bigger Google phone ?
I hate this notch phase we’re going through. It’s so ugly.

Man… unless the 3XL can do something the 3 can’t, I reckon I’d take the 3. I only got a 2XL because of how big the 2’s bezels are.
