Just yesterday we saw some official renders of the next Blackberry flagship, the KEY2, leaked by EvLeaks. Today our favourite leaker is at it again revealing the list of the specs for the KEY2.

Blackberry have not been coy at all regarding the KEY2, teasing it’s announcement on June 7 (US time) via their YouTube channel but the real details have come from Evan Blass. Today’s leak reveals everything about the hardware as well as some software details.

Notable specs include a 4.5 inch 1080P 3:2 aspect ratio display with a 35-key touch enabled backlit hardware keyboard. There are dual 12MP rear cameras and an 8MP fixed focus front-facing camera. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and 6GB of RAM along with an option for either 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage along with microSD (up to 256GB) support.

There will be Bluetooth 5.0 and USB 3.0 Type-C support as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. The battery is 3500mAh and will support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. On the software side it will run Android Oreo 8.0 and a host of Blackberry’s own apps.

Pricing is set to be fairly aggressive according to a followup Tweet from Evan — the pricing translates to about AU$849 before adding on the Australia Tax.

All is set to be revealed on June 7 US time so we won’t have long to wait before we hear the official details, as well as how the new keyboard will function. We expect it to sell here after the KEYOne sold relatively well here when it was released.

Anyone looking to get back into the Blackberry name? Could this be the device that does it for you?

I have the KEY1 and have two comments to make: (1) is that the keyboard is ‘just okay’ but if there is improvement then I am definitely interested. (2) is more of a software issue and that is when typing there is this truly annoying habit of going into keyboard shortcut mode for no damn reason. Fix that and I will happy!
