The long awaited great specials from Amazon Australia may be about to surface with the company announcing their hotly anticipated ‘Prime Day’ is coming to Australia this month.

The inaugural Amazon Prime Day will take place on July 16th, running for 36 hours and offering great deals and savings to Amazon Prime members. .

Country Manager of Amazon Australia, Rocco Braeuniger said of the launch of Amazon Prime Day for Australia

Having just launched Prime in Australia, we are delighted that Australian members can now enjoy the unparalleled combination of shopping and entertainment benefits that Prime gives them. We hope that Prime Day will provide them with even more value.

Amazon launched Prime in Australia last month, offering free 2-day shipping, access to Prime Video, Books, Twitch streaming and cheaper international shipping for $59/year or $4.99/month until the 31st of January 2019 when it jumps to $6.99/month – as well as getting a free 30-day trial to start you off.

Amazon Prime Day sees the company heavily discount items across the amazon.com.au store front, offering discounts on books, electronics, DVDs, video games, smart home, cookware and kitchen appliances, toys, fashion, and everyday essential items. Amazon will also be offering discounts on Amazon devices which includes their Alexa-enabled line of Echo products and more.

To encourage new Prime members to use the Amazon Prime Video, Twitch Prime and Audible services included with their Amazon Prime service.


Prime members will also get a AU$10 Amazon.com.au credit when they stream Prime Video for the first time between 9-15 July; two months free access to Kindle Unlimited offering access to over 1 million titles for new customers who join Kindle Unlimited before 31 July; three months free access to Audible for new customers who join Audible between 9-31 July; free gameplay as Twitch Prime gives away a free PC game every day until July 18, including titles like Pillars of Eternity and Brutal Legend, and exclusive in-game loot for Warframe and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds; and more.

    So if we sign up now we get a 30 day free trial and can benefit from the 36 hour savings. Then we can cancel the trial and not pay the Prime fees?

    +$10 credit if you start using prime video, so you can buy thing on prime day…seems like there must be a catch

    No windows app to watch prime video. Was the main reason why I can elled the service on day 1.
