Thanks to Google’s lack of ability to provide a working all-in-one messaging solution, we all have many chat apps, and finding a message in those apps is hit or miss. Thankfully finding the right TXT message is about to get easier with a new update to Android Messages.

In the latest update to Android Messages, Google is building in an improved search method, allowing you to search by contact or type of content, including things like ‘that photo your mom sent a month ago or the address of the coffee shop your friend recommended’.

Once the update is rolled out, Google says ‘After tapping on the search icon, you’ll be able to select a specific contact and see your messaging history with them, including one-to-one and group conversations, and all the photos, videos, addresses or links you shared with each other’.

The update is rolling out this week, so keep an eye out on your Google Play update notifications.

LMAO! Sad but true. Messaging on Android has been nothing but pain.

This looks like a great update for Messages and hopefully with similar functionality to iMessage, this is finally the messaging app we’ve been asking for.
