The lead up to the launch of any new smartphone is fraught with danger for manufacturers with leaks spoiling the surprise for some, but by the same token exciting other potential customers into a frenzy. The latest leak is the OnePlus 6T battery which shows the phone will have a 3,700mAh power house.

The leak comes courtesy of Slashleaks, which has a varied history so take this with a bag of salt (why worry about a grain), and shows an image they claim is the non-removable Li-Po battery for the OnePlus 6T. The 3,700mAh capacity trumps the OnePlus 6 which had a mere 3300 mAh battery for comparison.

The rumoured specs for the OnePlus 6T include a 6.28-inch 2280×1080 resolution AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor and covered with Gorilla Glass 6. Internally it’s expected to use a Snapdragon 845, with options for either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage.

The resolution of the display and Snapdragon 845 processor with the larger battery will mean a fairly substantial increase to the battery life of the OnePlus phones. Chris found no issues with the battery in the OnePlus 6 saying in his review ‘With OnePlus 6, I could forget about battery anxiety. It just kept on going’.

According to an invite being sent out to press, OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 6T an an event on October 17th, so we don’t have long to wait until we see the full specs.
