DJI has added a new tiny camera to its range of stabilised hand-held cameras in the form of the DJI Osmo Pocket which is equal parts powerful and tiny.

In a device which can easily fit in its user’s pocket, the DJI Osmo Pocket can film 4K video at a stunning 60fps, and uses mechanical stabilisation to deliver a better image quality than most smartphones and action cameras. At just 12.2cm long and 116g heavy, the Osmo Pocket is so small you could stick it in your pocket or bag and barely know its there.

On top of this, the device incorporates a small screen so you can see what you’re filming (a first for Osmo devices), but you can pair it with your mobile for a bigger screen if needed. There’s an optional control wheel accessory which allows you to get finer grained control over the Osmo Pocket too.

Handy features like ActiveTrack allows Osmo Pocket to track a moving subject and keep it in frame, focused and followed, while MotionLapse allows you to film stunning motion timelapse sequences.

DJI’s Osmo Pocket features a 1/2.3-inch sensor, 80 degree field of view and a f/2.0 aperture. It shoots 4K video at 60fps with 100mbps quality, and it can shoot 12MP photos too (though, really, its focus is clearly on video). It will retail for $599 and is available now.
