The OPPO Reno rumour wagon is heating up with more and more of the phone line being shown off each day by fans and OPPO employees on Chinese social media website Weibo. Today its 10x lossless optical zoom has been shown off in a series of examples.

Using a techniques that Huawei used the other day, albeit with non-smartphone camera images, OPPO is showing the images at no zoom and then within a lens/circle are showing the full zoom of a detailed portion of the image. The results are impressive and equally believable having seen the 10 x optical zoom in action at MWC.

A couple of other camera samples have also been shown off by the OPPO VP on Weibo showing its other capabilities:

Just a few days ago this phone was unknown until it was announced on Weibo by OPPO vice president Shen Yiren. In that time we have seen a few leaks already and along with the photo samples above today we have seen renders showing colour samples leak.

The new Reno line is expected to be announced on the 10th of April in just a few weeks with the flagship of the series expected to house a Snapdragon 855 processor and their 10 x lossless zoom — as seen in the renders above with the square lens at the bottom of the rear camera array.

At this stage we do not know if this will make it to Australia but if it doesn’t you can be sure its design language and capabilities will be transferred over to a line that will. Whatever it makes it into, we can’t wait to put it through its paces.
