With the launch of the OnePlus 7 Pro just a few weeks away now the company once known for it’s feature by feature guerrilla marketing tactics has once again taken to Twitter to tease it’s up-coming flagship. With the tag line “Bells and whistles make noise. We make phones”, OnePlus is indicating that they are not going to include any superfluous features that in essence do nothing to the user experience.

The puropse of the clip is most likely to remind users that they do not include, and will not include, the bells and whistles that many manufacturers include and users rarely, if ever, use.
This is how they manage to have the fastest phones available. Their light, no frills UX is ideal for those wanting a fast and smooth experience.

The clip also confirms the rear camera setup for the OnePlus 7 Pro. The triple sensor array is in line with previous leaks of the OnePlus 7 Pro so there’s no big surprise here, but with camera performance being an area that OnePlus has struggled to keep up (although the OnePlus 6T did get the same DxOMark score at the Pixel 2) with the competition it is crucial for them to get these cameras just right.

The camera on the OnePlus 7 Pro will consist of a 48MP (f/1.6 OIS+EIS), an 8MP (3x Zoom f/2.4), and a 16MP (117° f/2.2). The front facing camera will also be a pop-up camera, the first from a mainstream phone. This is the first time OnePlus have included a triple rear camera and with their step up in price point for the Pro version to be around the true flagship range we hope that their camera quality steps up into the upper tier as well.

With the Pixel 3a and 3a XL about to hit the market with what is expected to be a fantastic camera and a lower price point, OnePlus is going to have to make a strong argument to users about their camera if they expect to win them over.
