We suspected that the Google Pixel 4 would be announced on October 15 thanks to a leak from Evan Blass and today it has been confirmed. With an official media invite being sent out to US media stating that the hardware event will take place in New York City on October 15.

The invite does not give any information on the new devices that are expected at the Made By Google event but at this stage do we really need any more. They are expected to announce the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL along with a new Pixelbook and some new Google Home speakers (possibly more than just a new Nest Mini).

Not only have they shared the invite but there is a YouTube stream that is live for those wishing to play at home (including us). The live stream of course has nothing on it aside from a clock that tells us the event will be live in 28 days at 12am, October 16 (AEST).

Now that we know that the biggest hardware day of the year for Google is just four weeks away are you going to bookmark it and watch it live or will you just read Ausdroid the following morning where we will have all the latest from Google summarised for you?

There’ll probably be some more info on Google’s Play Pass subscription service too – possibly even an announcement that the Pixel 4 will include a subscription for a certain amount of time (likely 3 months).

Fingers crossed Google finally release their Chromebooks in Aus.

So, all we need is a leak on local pricing to complete the unofficial “release” of the phone 🙂
