TCL have been busy. This morning at CES 2020 they not only announced their own branded smartphones but also four different Alcatel smartphones.

Once again every single phone announced will be making it to our shores and they appear to be aimed at the value seekers. The four phones are the Alcatel 3L, the Alcatel 1S, the Alcatel 1V and the Alcatel 1B.

Alcatel 3L

The Alcatel 3L is a smartphone designed to be a camera phone with a 48MP main rear sensor alongside a 5MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro lens and an 8MP selfie camera.

Using their new design coined “Aurora” the 3L has a shimmering gradient design on the rear allowing it to exhibit different colours using shifting patterns — meant to resemble the Aurora Borealis.

Packed with a 6.22-inch HD+ display in a 19:9 aspect ratio, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage and an octacore processor the Alcatel 3L is sure to be a decent phone at a competitive price.

Alcatel 1S

The Alcatel 1S is an entry-level sub-$200 phone that sports a triple rear camera of 13MP, 5MP and 2MP. With AI built into the camera app it can detect the scenery and adjust the settings accordingly.

The 1S also has a 6.22-inch HD+ display and the Aurora design making it a compelling value phone.

Alcatel 1V

With the same 6.22-inch HD+ display as the above two phones the Alcatel 1V is a small step underneath them with only a dual rear camera setup. Included in the design is a dedicated Google Assistant button and is designed to be an attractive device at a very attractive price (although unknown at this stage).

Alcatel 1B

The Alcatel 1B brings the Android Go experience to Alcatel and as you would expect with an Android Go smartphone, packs very little in the way of specs — but then high end specs are not required with Android Go.

With 2GB of RAM, a quadcore processor and a 5.55-inch HD+ display it is designed to be a smartphone for those who only want and need the basics done well. The 3,000mAh battery will help it run all day and also has a dedicated Google Assistant button

Further information on each device including pricing will be available when they begin to release into Australia in the coming months.
