Nokia’s parent company HMD Global is adding Android 10 support to the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6.1 handsets.

The 7 Plus and 6.1 join the Nokia 7.1, 8.1, and 9 PureView in running the latest version of Android. It’s nice to see Nokia committing to long-term support of its existing devices.

Other Nokia devices are expected to receive Android 10 in the coming months, including the 2.2, 3.1 Plus, 3.2, 4.1, 1 Plus, 5.1 Plus, 8 Sirocco and 7.2. The remaining devices to receive the latest OS upgrade will be the Nokia 1, 2.1, 3.1, and 5.1, which are expected to get Android 10 in the second quarter of the year.

Android 10 brings a number of quality-of-life features with it including smart replies, gesture navigation, a system-wide dark theme and upgraded privacy and security features.

It’s apparently going to be updated by the end of Q1 2020 so hopefully it gets updated before the end of March
