We have seen a few leaks of the OPPO Watch with some suggestions that it was going to be releasing alongside the Find X2 this week and now it is official with OPPO announcing that the official launch date to be March 6, Friday.

The new poster released by OPPO yesterday on Weibo not only tells us the date but shows off the watch itself. The watch is very reminiscent of the Apple Watch in shape with 3D curved glass on the front. The OPPO watch has two buttons on the right hand side of the watch rather than a crown button.

Two different colours are also revealed and although it is unclear if these are the only two colours it is coming in they look to be enticing. One colour is a very dark navy blue with what appears to either be a matching silicon band or a black band and the other a rose gold with a cream coloured band.

Once again we can also see the interface that OPPO have included on the watch which is apparent Wear OS underneath. The watch is also apparently meant to support e-sim but for now OPPO h ave done a great job keeping this smartwatch under wraps with not much else known. It is expected though to support ECG and hopefully match other smartwatches for health and fitness functionality.

At this stage we find it unlikely the OPPO Watch makes it to our shores given the small population but I wouldn’t say no to another smartwatch in our marketplace. It is possible that OPPO offer it as a bonus for preorders etc for the Find X2 but that could be wishful thinking given the expected value of the watch.

Keep an eye out late this Friday evening when the Find X2 will be announced for all the details of the OPPO Watch launching alongside.
