In the wake of the Covid-19-inspired cancellation of MWC vendors like HMD Global have had to reschedule their events and device launches. It seems that this delay has allowed the details of the expected Nokia 5.2 mid range device to break cover before the expected March 19th event.

By the looks of the Processor specs and architecture it looks like Nokia is moving the 5.2 away from MediaTek and will be using a Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1.8 GHz, likely the SD660 or 665 based on the architecture and revision of the benchmark. That will be paired with 3GB of RAM which should give solid reliable performance.

Being a HMD Global device the Nokia 5.2 will ship with Android 10 at a launch. You’ll also get a guaranteed 2 years of Feature updates and 3 years of security updates. Over all Nokia has a solid track record delivering updates to their line of devices.

The benchmarks don’t offer much more solid details but rumours point towards the Nokia 5.2 or Captain America as it is code named, featuring rear fingerprint sensor, tear drop notch display and a quad camera array on the back. With the Nokia 5.1 retailing for $329 in Australia we expect the Nokia 5.2 to be priced similarly and have some decent specs alongside that price.
