We’re big fans of the Philips Hue smart lighting system, with a number of Ausdroid team members using the products throughout their house. Today, Signify is launching some new products that can bring Hue’s convenience and control to your outdoor areas.

While most people’s exposure to Philips Hue lighting products are likely limited to smart bulbs and light strips, the full range is actually quite broad – there’s table lamps, bathroom mirror lights, wall and ceiling lights and more. Some Hue products have been available for use outdoors for some time, but the products launching today are more specifically designed with your backyard in mind.

Today’s new products include pedestal and stand lights, wall lights, bollards, flood and spot lights along with light strips and motion detectors designed for outdoor use.

Fuzo

Wall lights from $149, pedestals from $199.

Impress

Wall lights from $149, pedestals from $349.

Calla

Launching today is a larger version of the already-available Calla bollard light. The new models work as a base unit ($219) and an extension unit ($159).

Other products

Discover floodlight ($229) and Lily outdoor spotlight ($129)

Outdoor light strips (2m $194, 5m $314)

Outdoor motion sensor ($89)

That’s a lot of new product. It’s all designed to make Hue more accessible and desirable to enthusiasts and professionals designing and installing outdoor lighting systems for their homes.

Signify says the new products are low voltage and don’t require a lot of installation to get them up and running. Because Hue runs on ZigBee, you won’t need a wifi network covering your backyard either.

If you’ve got an outdoor area that could do with some smart lighting love, you should be able to find the new products wherever you shop for Philips Hue. We’ve had a lot of luck finding what we need at Bunnings, Kogan and Amazon Australia in the past – and don’t forget to check OzBargain for price matching opportunities.
