JBL have made some great headphones over the years and have brought their signature sound to every set of headphones they have created. JBL have just announced its latest headphones, a collaboration with Under Armour (UA) and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to produce a set of true wireless earbuds perfect for any workout.

The new headphones are designed to reflect the Rock’s dedication to any and all workouts by offering a cord-free audio experience in a set of headphones built for the workout grind. These limited edition headphones are built with the most advanced audio technology that JBL possess and include IPX7 sweat and waterproof technology along with an “anti-bacterial Sport Flex Fit ear tips”. [I’m not sure what exactly makes them anti-bacterial although I suspect it will be their ability to dry out faster than cloth headphones.]

The high performance design is combined with JBL’s Charged Sound, tuned for rich bass(which will be a miracle in such a small package). The earphones also possess Bionic Hearing — well, not quite 6 million dollar man but more a JBL technology that allows you to hear surroundings with two sound technologies with the touch of a button.

Touching the button enables the TalkThru Technology where the music is lowered and speech is amplified — for those who want to talk to a training partner or just talk while in the gym (not me). AmbientAware mode allows you to hear background noise in the environment which is a definite requirement for same use outdoors.

Project Rock is not a brand, it’s a movement. It’s a core belief, that I 100% don’t care what color you are, how old you are, where you come from or what you do for a living. The only thing I care about is you and me, building the belief that regardless of whatever the odds, we can overcome and achieve—but it all starts with the work we’re willing to put in with our two hands.Dwayne Johnson

Part of the Project Rock Collection, the UA Sport Wireless Flash In-Earphones have a battery life of five hours with the lightweight Aluminium charging case offering 20 hours more.

The limited edition earphones include The Rock’s brahma bull signature logo and will set you back around the $330 mark from JB Hi-Fi or from the Under Armour website — but only for a limited time.

If you are going to be at the Arnold Classic next weekend in Melbourne head on over to the JBL booth and check out hese new true wireless headphones along with a heap of other JBL products designed for sport and fitness (no, unfortunately the Rock will not be there) and if you see me there say hi to receive a special edition Ausdroid pin.

Ummm…..they have been in partnership since at least the middle of last year. That’s how long I’ve seen the pic of Dwayne in the JBL section of my local JB-HiFi for.
