If you like selling things on eBay Australia then you’ll have to give eBay your bank account details to be able to receive money as Paypal won’t be an option soon. eBay claims that most sellers will pay the same or less than before.

Your eBay selling fees and expenses will be automatically deducted from your earnings before you get paid. The remainder of your earnings will go directly to your bank account. No more PayPal payment processing fees. No more separate monthly fee payments.

Regardless of how the buyer pays, payouts are consistently initiated Monday through Friday, within 2 business days of order confirmation. Once a payout is initiated, funds will be available in your bank account per normal bank processing times, typically within one business day.

Buyers have new ways to pay, from PayPal to Google Pay, Apple Pay and Afterpay. All earnings will be deposited into the sellers bank account regardless of how buyers pay.

Buyers can pay for most items on eBay using PayPal, a credit or debit card, an eBay gift card or voucher, or Afterpay. Google Pay or Apple Pay may also be available, depending on the seller and on which device you’re using, and some sellers may also offer other payment options. You’ll see the available payment methods in the listing and at checkout.

Will this allow buyers to use several credit cards to purchase an item? An example, you buy an item worth $150.00 but have a gift card worth $100 and then use your own credit card for the remainder?

The killer is that they want you to upload your iicense/passport… nope

I won’t be changing from PayPal because I don’t want to share my bank account details with eBay. It’s that simple. And there are so many other places to sell stuff these days that I only need to use eBay to buy things.

Paypal often holds the funds for awhile. Wonder if this will lead to more scams.
