When Stan Sport first launched in late 2020 with 2 tennis grand slams and some Rugby tournaments live and ad free, it didn’t seem worth most people spending $10 a month extra on top of an existing Stan streaming subscription.

However in the time that has passed since then Nine Entertainment Company the owners of Stan have picked up rights to many more sporting events so if you like European Soccer, Tennis, Motorsport or Rugby subscribing to Stan Sport is now worth considering.

What’s included in Stan Sport?

As Tennis fans my family have watched plenty of matches played at the 4 Grand Slams (French Open, US Open, Wimbledon, Australian Open).

Stan Sport also has the broadcast rights to the Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup and Laver Cup Tennis Tournament as well as all all the summer lead-up tournaments to the Australian Open, such as the ATP Cup and the Adelaide International recently won by local player Thanasi Kokkinakis as his first ATP Tour title.

I’m not interested in Rugby but if you are, you can watch every match of the Super Rugby, The Rugby Championship, Bledisloe Cup, plus Premiership Rugby, Shute Shield, Hospital Challenge Cup, Currie Cup and New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship, Super W, Wallabies, and Wallaroos test matches, SANZAAR Union home tests, an extensive library of classic Wallabies & Super Rugby matches and more.

European Football/Soccer fans can watch every match of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League & UEFA Super Cup on Stan Sport.

Recently without much fanfare Stan Sport has added coverage of several Motorsports: Formula E (electric cars), INDYCAR, World Rally Championship and World Endurance Championship.

Lastly as an experiment to see how much money they can earn from one off events, Stan Sport is going to broadcast a pay per view Boxing match in early March 2022 for an extra fee on top of the usual Stan subscription cost.

What does Stan Sport cost?

To view Stan Sport you first sign up to a base Stan plan ($10, 14 or $19) first and then pay the $10/month Stan Sport fee on top.

Both the base Stan plans and the Stan Sport addon fee are month to month so there’s no reason to subscribe all year if all you want to watch is a handful of tournaments eg: Australian Open and lead up matches.
