No that’s not a typo. The new Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless headphones really do promise 60 hours of battery life and that’s via Bluetooth and with ANC (test condition: iPhone, mid volume level). To the best of my knowledge that beats competitors by a huge amount.

These new circum-aural (around-the-ear) headphones with 42mm transducer from Sennheiser support connectivity via Bluetooth 5.2, headphone jack and USB-C cable. Codecs supported include: SBC, AAC, aptX and aptX adaptive

Christian Ern, Sennheiser Principal Product Manager Consumer Headphones commented:

“Our MOMENTUM range has always set the standard for sophisticated listening with superior sound”

“The new MOMENTUM 4 Wireless once again raises the bar – delivering best-in-class sound quality with advanced Adaptive Noise Cancellation and exceptional comfort. Thanks to features including Transparency Mode, Built-in EQ and a new Sound Personalisation feature, users can listen in their own customised way.”

Sennheiser claims that the headphones are comfortable to wear all-day thanks to a
lightweight padded headband and deep cushioned earpads. Meanwhile, the low friction
hinge mechanism is said to easily adjust to guarantee a great fit without placing excess clamping pressure on the user’s head.

Smart features include:

  • Fast charging capability that can enable 6 hours listening in just 10 minutes
  • Smart Pause halts playback when the headphones are taken off and resumes when placed back on the ears
  • Auto On/Off rapidly powers up the headset when it’s picked up and shuts down to save energy when not in use.
  • Touchpad interface of the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless, combined with voice and sound
prompts, make controlling music, calls and voice assistants intuitive and easy to navigate.

The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless is available for pre-order now and for sale from August 23, for $549.95 from audio specialists such as Addicted to Audio as well as consumer electronics and department stores such as JB Hi-Fi and David Jones.

USB A to USB C cable, why not supply a USB C to USB C cable, and a USB C to USB A adapter, or at least the supplied cable and a USB A to USB C adapter?
I hope the carry case exterior material does not start to degrade and flake off, like what the carry case exterior material did after a mere 4 years, for my Momentum 1 wired on ears did. Fine black powder flaking off everywhere I touched the case.
It’s interesting that they supply an aircraft headphones socket adapter.
