BlueAnt has continued to deliver great quality hardware that brings the beats to a variety of settings. The X0i is the updated version of the X0, a very small, very light speaker with good sound delivery.

The X0i is designed to be a part of your everyday carry in your back, or even in your pocket. It has a battery capable of 13 hours of playback through its 45mm driver. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t going to compete with a significantly larger Bluetooth speaker, but for its size, it packs a decent punch at 6 Watts. If you pair two, you get twice the bang, for just a few bucks at AU$69 per unit.

Offering a splashproof (IP56) rating means that days by the pool or down the beach aren’t going to cause harm, but don’t drop it in the water. You can choose from three colours:

  • Crimson Red
  • Ocean Blue
  • Slate Black

Other features include the microphone, allowing Siri or Assistant integration to your connected mobile device, one-touch controls and an easy carry strap.

BlueAnt CEO and Founder Taisen Maddern said:

“The level of audio clarity and bass you get in such a small package will be hard for many Australians to refuse at that price point. It works in any environment and the duo mode is so simple Aussies will struggle to settle on buying just one.”

With more speakers (2 new releases and a couple more upgraded models) to come soon, if you’re on the go and love your music; BlueAnt is worth keeping an eye on.

The X0i is available from Telstra, Officeworks or direct from the BlueAnt website.

I purchased a blue one of these today. The colour looks brighter than in these photos – it’s better looking than a JBL clip, and can rest vertically or horizontally. Sound volume is impressive for the size, quality is pretty good at moderate volumes and noticeably distorted at maximum.
