HTC - M4 - One - T6

We all know that HTC are going to release a lower-end version of the HTC One sometime soon. Firstly, because releasing lots of phones is what HTC does; and secondly because they’ve told us. As we (presumably) get closer to the release date of the M4, or One Mini as it’s apparently now called, we’re starting to see more and more information leak out about the device.

Engadget are claiming to have a ‘trusted source’ with access to the One Mini, and they’ve received the following comparison photo of the phone with its big brother, HTC’s One.

According to Engadget, benchmark results reveal that the One Mini will be powered by a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, most likely the very same Snapdragon 400 that drives the HTC First (the ‘Facebook phone’). HTC are playing it fast and loose with the term ‘mini’; the One Mini having a 4.3-inch screen with an expected 720p display. There isn’t a lot of information about the Ultrapixel camera, but it is said to be capable of taking 1080p video and Zoe capture. Unfortunately, the One’s neat IR blaster will be left out of the smaller variant.

In terms of the phone’s design, the One Mini looks almost identical to the One, with the same aluminium unibody construction and stereo front-facing speakers. For some reason, HTC have opted to have a plastic edge around the device’s front, and I’m sure its purpose will become clear eventually.

All up, the One Mini looks to be a fairly promising device, and if it’s priced correctly, its combination of stellar design and most of HTC’s flagship features could prove to be a winner.
