Headphone makers Jaybird have announced a new set of wireless sports headphones in the mid-range category with the Tarah Wireless Sport Headphones now available to pre-order.

The Tarah are a step down from their X-series headphones with a slightly shorter battery life clocking in at 6 hours (versus the X4 at 8 hours). The battery can give you a quick top-up if you forget to recharge, with 10 minutes of charging giving you up to an hour of playback.

The Tarah offers similar performance though with a 6mm driver offering a 10mW RMS output through the earbuds which offer comfort thanks to interchangeable ultra-soft silicone ear gels available in a range of sizes.

The buds are joined together by a ‘Speed Cinch cord management system’ which lets you adjust the length of the cable on the fly for the perfect fit, so you’re not letting it get in the way when you’re working out.

Like the rest of the Jaybird range, the Tarah are aimed at active users and come with an IP67 dust/water resistance rating which allows for immersion in up to 1 metre of water for 30-minutes, or more likely allow you to sweat your butt off in the gym as long as you want.

The Jaybird Tarah are compatible with voice assistants, specifically Apple’s Siri and the Google Assistant and carries the “Made for Google” branding which Jaybird says ensures ‘compatibility with Google devices’. The inline mic and playback controls allow you to take calls and adjust your music while you work out, or you can use the Jaybird app to adjust the Equalizer settings from your phone.

The Tarah are available in two colours: Black/Flash and Nimbus Gray/Jade with pricing starting at $149.95 from the Jaybird website. They’ll be available from retailers from October.
