Fashion label Armani has announced their first foray into the smartwatch market at Milan Fashion Week with the Armani Emporio set to hit the market in September.

The watch is being released as part of the Fossil Groups stable of watches, and like previous Fossil Group smart watches will be powered by Android Wear. The watch will have a round AMOLED touchscreen display with a Snapdragon 2100 processor running underneath. It will contain sensors for fitness tracking, but there’s no mention of GPS or heart-rate monitor.

The Emporio will be customisable with up to eight interchangeable bands available, and a selection of customisable watch faces designed specifically to complement the watch will be pre-installed for you to choose from.

The watch will run Android Wear 2.0 with Google Assistant along for the ride, but at this early stage there’s no mention of NFC on-board.

No pricing has been announced as yet, but the watch will be available on September 14th in the US. We’ve seen previous Fossil Group watches make their way down under so we’ll be following up closer to launch on the availability of the watch here.
