May is shaping up to be a busy month for Android and ChromeOS, with LG and Motorola both announcing events this month. Now Google and Intel have joined the party, inviting press to an event in San Francisco on May 6th.
According to 9to5Google, the event will be a co-sponsored panel, with ChromeOS being the main topic. Speakers at the event will include Google’s VP of product management, Caesar Sengupta – the man who usually writes the Google Blog posts announcing new Chromebooks, and Intel’s VP and general manager of mobile computing, Navin Shenoy.
The event will include a Q&A and then on-site demonstrations of new Chrome products. Acer just announced a new i3 based Chromebook, but their announcement that it will be the ‘most powerful Chromebook on the market’ could be a short-lived claim to fame.
While it’s possible we’ll see some new models from partners, I’m selfishly hoping for a new Chromebook Pixel. We’ll have to wait and see what comes.
