Android apps have slowly been arriving on ChromeOS, officially anyway, with Google controlling the flow and working with developers to bring their apps over in a way that will work with the ChromeOS setup. Google has announced six more apps have now made the move, and though they’re not exactly big name apps, there’s some notable apps there.
The six apps released are Dormi, Waves, Slice, Yo, Slideshare and Tapatalk. They’re a varied lot in terms of function as you can see:
- Dormi: The baby monitor for the smartphone age. Includes all standard features of an audio hardware baby monitor and some surprising extras.
- Waves: Chromatic tuner app, measuring sound pitch using your computer’s microphone, letting you tune any musical instrument (violin, viola, violoncello, bass, guitar, ukulele, piano, brass, other wind instruments).
- Slice: As featured 3 times on NBC’s The Today Show, Slice is your smart shopping assistant, with a brand new design that delivers new ways for you to save time and money!
- Yo: The simplest & most efficient communication tool in the world.

- Tapatalk: Tapatalk connects you to people who share your own passions and interests. Millions of members are online now, sharing their expert opinions with others who can truly appreciate them.
To install them you’ll need the Android Runtime for Chrome (ARC) which enables Android apps to run on ChromeOS, but if it’s your first time running an Android app on Chrome it will automatically install.
