Hangouts
The Chrome Hangout app has received an interesting new update overnight, with Googler Mayur Kamat announcing on Google+ that you can now drag-and-drop images from the web into your Hangouts chat window.

According to Mr Kamat, you can do this on your Inbox/Gmail window after refreshing as well as in the Chrome App. The funmction is limited with animated GIFs unfortunately not supported. If you try you end up with an error message saying:

Unable to attach file. Only JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP and TIFF image files are supported.

The update will let you shave a few seconds off your time when sharing images without having to download the image first and then upload to Hangouts.

If you use Hangouts, refresh your mailbox or re-launch your app and try it out.
