Android on ChromeOS

We were somewhat surprised this week with the release of Android Apps on Chrome OS rolling out only to the Asus Chromebook Flip leaving the Acer R11 and Chromebook Pixel 2015 (the only other devices supported in the trial of Google Play on Chrome OS) lagging behind. But, they will get it, with Google has updated their support page to advise that both will be getting the update ‘soon’.

There’s no exact date announced here, with Google simply updating the page to advise that they will get Google Play support sometime between today and the end of July. Depending on how much you want to give the new feature a go that may not meet your definition of soon. For the rest of us not lucky enough to have one of the 3 chosen Chromebooks who knows how much longer we’ll be waiting to get our hands on some Chromey Android goodness.
