A 2-in-1 tablet/notebook that functions well has been on the product line for a number of manufacturers for some time, but today Lenovo throws their hat in the ring with the Lenovo Yoga Book, a new device which will be sold running either Android or Windows 10.

The Yoga Book is a dual-screen notebook/tablet device which uses the watchband hinge design that lets the device flip the screen completely around to go from notebook to tablet mode with ease.

The big feature for the Yoga Book is the keyboard, which is not actually a keyboard but a second panel that’s touch sensitive. The panel features the ‘Halo’ keyboard, a backlit keyboard that shows up as a solid white outline on the panel, but only when it’s needed.

This panel is fully touch sensitive with support for a Wacom-powered stylus which Lenovo are calling the ‘Real-Pen’. The Real-Pen gives users up to 2048 pressure levels of sensitivity to draw, sketch or write like a real pro on that second panel.

Check it out in action:

There’s a fair bit of power under the hood of the Yoga Book with an Intel Atom processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage included.

  • 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS display
  • Intel Atom Quad-Core 2.4GHz x5-Z8550
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB storage + microSD
  • 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera
  • 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
  • 8,500mAh
  • 256.6 x 170.8 x 9.6mm @ 690g
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Lenovo will be selling the Yoga Book in Gunmetal Grey or Champagne Gold for €499 when it goes on-sale ‘Globally’ in September. We’ll be definitely asking Lenovo about the Yoga Book coming to Australia, but it looks like it’s a certainty.
