Xiaomi have taken to their social media pages on both Facebook and Twitter to announced that their 4K Android TV set-top box will be coming to the USA shoreline very “soon”, although no official date of when this will actually occur has been provided.

If your not sure what Daydream is exactly, you can head over to our post by Duncan, which explains more in detail about this new service but in a nutshell, Daydream is Google’s platform for high-performance mobile VR built on top of Android N.

Xiaomi haven’t stated when the Mi Box will be officially available in the USA or if indeed it will ever come to Australia but we will be keeping an eye out for details of when and how it will be available in the USA. That said, it is worth noting that if you try to purchase a Mi Box from when it becomes available in the USA and ship it to home, that it will work from here in Australia, so you might want to wait and see.
Seems like a nice step up over the Nexus. Wonder how it will compare to the shield.
