Google’s second gen Chromecast, both the new Audio only model and the follow-up video model were launched at a higher price than the original, coming in at $59. We’ve not seen a lot of discounting on either version of the Chromecast 2 as yet, but Harvey Norman is giving you the chance to pick either up at a discounted price
Harvey Norman is offering the Chromecast Audio for just $54 – that’s $5 off for those playing at home – while the Chromecast 2 video gets the bigger discount, down to just $47 – that’s $12 off the RRP. The sale is on until the 18th of August, and both have the option to redeem 2 months of free Spotify Premium streaming audio, at least you can if you’re signing up as a new user.
If you’re not near a Harvey Norman you can order online and have it delivered for a small fee, or if you want you can always choose Click and Collect if they have stock in a store near you.

Officeworks are now offering the Chromecast 2 for $47 as well. Officeworks are often prone to doing these price matching deals based on their offer to beat any price match by 5%, so you can imagine they’d have had a few people getting cheaper Chromecast 2 by price matching Harvey Norman. But now, you’ll simply get a Chromecast 2 for $47.
Officeworks can deliver you a Chromecast 2 for an additional fee, or if your local Officeworks has them in stock you can choose to Click & Collect. Head over to the Officeworks website if you’re interested.

TheGoodGuys are price matching as well, offering the Chromecast 2 for $47 on their website as well but with an end date of 22nd of August. Looks like Officeworks will have to extend their discount to match if they don’t want to be beating it by 5% every time while the deal lasts.
