CES is under way for 2024 and we’re seeing a lot of interesting gadgets getting released. Over the last couple of years, I’ve had the good fortune to review a number of BlueAnt devices. As an overarching statement, they’re good sound and great value; so seeing this new desktop audio option has me quite excited for what this will deliver.
The Soundblade is an under monitor soundbar that offers (without going to the extent of surround sound) rich and clean audio, immersing the user in whatever they may be doing. Whether it’s streaming a movie, audio or gaming the Soundblade is going to blow users away; particularly when you consider the physical form factor.

The Soundblade has an interesting, downward firing speaker design allowing it to utilise spatial audio and deliver up to 120W peak power. That power is driving an 80mm neodymium subwoofer, dual neodymium drivers, dual voice coils, and single cone racetrack drivers. In English, that’s a number of different sized and shaped speakers in the single unit; resulting in a broad sound delivery capability.
Finally, a manufacturer that has thought about connectivity options! The Soundblade has USB-C, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm input for users who want to connect it to multiple devices. I’m pretty sure I’ll be running USB-C to my gaming PC, 3.5mm to my laptop and Bluetooth to my phone to make sure (when I pick one up) I’ve got the capacity to get my music going whenever I want to.
We already have the Australian release date and pricing. You’ll be able to pick one up from the 18th of this month in Telstra stores and online for $299.00 which, for what it’s delivering is a pretty good price in my eyes.

That’s because this desktop speaker is clearly meant, not for PC users, but rather, Apple Mac desktop users.
On what basis have you formed this opinion Jeni?

The physical design of the speaker is one that directly goes over the desktop base of an Apple Mac. As far as I am aware, there are no PC monitors with a similarly styled base that this speaker would so precisely fit both on top of, and under the bend of. The released colours of the speaker are designed to match the colours of the current generation desktop Apple Mac. The Blueant official images solely show the speaker in use with desktop Macs. My LG 29″ Ultrawide has a base like that.
I’d be happy with three of those colours in my workspace and I don’t have a Mac (at this point in time…) but I agree they do align to Mac colours and the images do appear to be Macs.
So I’ll give you a credit on that one. LOL
