Hot on the heels of this mornings announcement that Chromecast is available in Australia, Google has released a 30-second commercial for Chromecast showing the dongle.
The commercial has been localised, keep an eye out for a quick view of Jessica Mauboy in one scene, but the rest is fairly standard content delivered from Google Play (including everyone’s favourite Game of Thrones). The commercial ends with the price tag and the URL for finding the Chromecast in Australia.

It appears we jumped the gun, just after publishing a second 15-second Chromecast commercial has been posted to the Google YouTube channel – Thanks Jeni. Titled ‘Bigger Blazes’ the ad has no real localisation beyond adding the logos for Dick Smith, David Jones (Dick Smith has kiosks in selected David Jones stores) and Move (Dick Smith’s premium branded stores) at the end of the promo. Whether we start seeing this commercial on TV or not is another thing. It’s a pretty good commercial, basic, but to the point, showing that you can use the dongle to show content from your phone or tablet on the big screen and the price.

There’s a second ad up on YT as well, only 15 seconds but it ends with the names of 3 of the local retailers for Chromecast, Move, DSE, and David Jones.
