AndroidWearApp

Now that Google’s rollout of Play Services 5.0 is complete, they’ve published the Android Wear companion app to the Play Store.

The app pairs with your Android Wear device and allows you to configure voice action preferences and adjust notification settings, so you can choose which app’s notifications make it through to your watch.

You can find out a bit more about how the app is used in our Gear Live hands-on.

If you’ve got a G Watch or Gear Live on order, you’ll probably want to install the app in anticipation of your watch shipping later this week or early next week. Unfortunately, it won’t do much until you get your watch.

Before discovering the Nexus One, Jason thought he didn't need a smartphone. Now he can't bear to be without his Android phone. Jason hails from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane depending on his mood and how detailed a history you'd like. A web developer by day with an interest in consumer gadgets and electronics, he also enjoys reading comics and has a worryingly large collection of Transformers figures. He'd like to think he's a gamer, but his Wii has been in a box since he moved to Sydney, and his PlayStation Vita collection is quite lacking. “Unfortunately, it won’t do much until you get your watch.”

You can connect it to an emulated wear device, using adb and the SDK. So you can demo what apps do on a watch, test run it so to speak.. or you know, write apps.
