Android Wear

A new section has been added to Google Play to house all the Android Wear apps. Check out the growing list here.

At the time of writing, there’s 21 apps listed in there – hopefully this will grow as Android Wear devices make it out to consumers.

While this section is welcome, judging by the URL it does seem to be a simple curated promotion list – like other themed sales and promotions that are often run around major events like Australia Day. Still, some promotion is better than the approach Google took when they first introduced Android to tablets and didn’t do anything to promote tablet-specific apps in the Play Store.

Hopefully Google will evolve this over time to better denote Android Wear integration on app listings and allow users to search and filter by Android Wear compatibility.

Have any of these Android Wear apps caught your eye? Which apps would you like to see? Tell us in the comments!
